Partners
BASIC brings together committed individuals, churches, businesses, NGOs, universities, and governments to give witness to their beliefs and ideals through their partnering work.
SCARCE
SCARCE has generously supplied text and library books for the libraries of many schools in and around Kasei. They also contributed microscopes and scales for the high school labs and tennis shoes for the students, teachers, and others.
California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo
Through the work of Sada Andrews, a BASIC Founder, and her husband, Dr. Matthew Hopper, a professor at Cal Poly, our relationship with faculty and students has grown. Dr. David Headrick’s leadership and expertise supported the agricultural development programs. Cal Poly graduates, Dylan Ferreira and Steve Ocheltree have provided invaluable leadership and skills to our agrobusiness and educational programs.
The Luke Society
Doctor John Boateng, a fellow BASIC Founder and Director of the Luke Society, is the rock upon which much of our work rests. His direction and support play a major role in our work. Together we are proving that the intelligent and diligent mixture of long and short-term development teams can make a major difference.
UN Millennium Village
In 2008, we began an exchange of information and resources with the Millennium Village in Ghana. They graciously provided us with a day-long tour of their work. They have generously shared findings and outcomes. BASIC has reciprocated with its findings and 46 cases of books for the new Millennium Village library and community center. The Millennium Village model of development contains many of the programs that BASIC plans to emulate.
Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT)
In 2008, IIT ran an article on the work BASIC is doing in Ghana. Alums, students, and professors are interested in how they might help.
International Aid (IA) provided medical equipment.
Wheaton College's Mission Department sent one of their senior interns to Ghana in 2009.
