Scholarships

The BASIC Scholarship Program allows student in Kasei to attend high school in a nearby town and encourages them to help raise their own families and community out of material poverty. In addition to passing high school entrance exams, eligible students must demonstrate their diligence and commitment by establishing an ninety percent attendance rate in junior high and by accumulating community service hours.

We are currently seeking funding for the Student Scholarship Program. Students in Kasei may qualify to attend senior secondary school (high school) after passing entrance exams and meeting community service requirements. In 2007, one student from Kasei attended high school. In 2008, with the help of BASIC's scholarship program, nineteen students from Kasei enrolled.  Twenty-five students enrolled in 2009, and eighteen in 2010.

There are sixty-three students currently enrolled in the four classes at Ejuraman Senior High School.  Forty students are currently completing the application process for entrance in 2011.

Your contributions help students and their families stay motivated and hopeful for their future.
