Get Involved
Getting involved in others' lives can be the most difficult and rewarding experience of your own. If you feel led to use your gifts to help others around the world, we would love to help you get started on that path. If you're an experienced professional in any field, we can use you.
If you have the blessing of free time, there are many ways to get involved. You can help us inventory and pack crates of textbooks and school supplies. You can hold an event to raise awareness and funds for the poor in Ghana. You can help us build our website or make a video to help us tell the story. You can go with us to Ghana for a few weeks to work and build relationships. You can stay in Ghana for a few months (or longer) working on specific projects.
If you have been blessed financially, we want you to be involved. You can sponsor a student in senior secondary school (high school). You can help ship medical supplies to the teaching hospital in Kasei. You can assist interns and volunteers during their stay in Ghana. You can sponsor a teacher to come to the US for advanced training. You can help buy books for the library, computers for the community, farm equipment for the cooperative farm, improved housing for teachers, or kitchen supplies for the school's lunch program.
BASIC has established a long-term relationship with the Kasei community, and we are open to creative ways to address the causes of material poverty. If you have an idea of how you might get involved, we are interested in hearing it.
